Computer Designed Knee Replacement

The Signature Knee Replacement is a fairly new innovation in total knee technology. It utilizes the same highly successful Vanguard knee used for all total knee replacements at the Kennedy Center. A computer plans the details of the surgery so that the knee implant is custom designed for size and placement before the patient reaches the operating room. A computer enhanced, 3-D image of your knee is created to help the surgeon during knee reconstruction surgery. With a Signature Total Knee, the surgeon can design the proper alignment prior to making the first incision. The 3-D image provides “cutting guides” that show where bone cuts should occur during surgery.
